A bit over a year ago I visited the Batu Caves north of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The caves, a holy place dedicated to the Hindu god Murugan, are also home to a small army of Long-tailed macaques which live on the scraps the crowds of tourists leave behind. This little fella had just acquired an ice-cream cone, but stopped for a moment to join the tourists who were looking up to the large holes in the caves’ ceiling.
